Possible Trouble for King & King Inc?

(I saw this on the WLKY site (via the MSNBC site) and haven't seen it covered anywhere else, so thought I'd put it up on my place.)

In February, Ed Springston filed a complaint with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance, alleging that the loan she made to her own campaign was illegal. The money came from a new mortgage on her home that was $50,000 more than the assessed value. The source of such a generous mortgage? King Southern Bank, owned by her father, Jim King.

Apparently, KREF sent Judge Katie a letter telling her to provide more documentation, and giving her until May 15 to do so.

Is this trouble for Katie? Don't know yet. But since Jim King is often mentioned as one of the possible candidates for mayor next year, it could be trouble for him. At the very least, it would certainly be fodder for one or more attack ads.
